| INTERFACE AT WORK: NOBLESVILLE HIGH SCHOOL |
Assignment: Replace traditional broadloom carpet with a performance floorcovering
designed to hold up to the tough education environment.
Location: Contemporary 470,000 sq. ft. high school in central Indiana
Architectural Design Firm: Odle McGuire & Shook Corporation
Products: Tapestry with a solid color border
The Noblesville School System assembled a building committee consisting of administrators,
teachers and operations personnel to determine the interior requirements for their new
high school. This group brought with it concerns over budget, performance, maintenance
and the need to create a safe environment conducive to learning. With over 700 computers,
this contemporary facility utilized underfloor cable management systems in their computer
rooms. The high performance and flexibility of Interface products, available in 50cm tiles
and 2m Performance Broadloom, were able to meet the diverse functional requirements of their
space. Keeping past performance issues in mind and looking to the future needs of their
facility, the committee chose Interface products for both aesthetics and durability. In
fact, the Noblesville School System is using Interface products exclusively for all of
their carpet needs in school renovation and new school construction projects at the nine
schools that make up their school system.
"We had used conventional carpet products in some of our other facilities, and experienced
zippering and edge ravel. We wanted a more durable product with non-flow-through backing."
"The Interface carpet looks as good today as it did when it was installed."
Dennis Wyatt, Director of Buildings and Grounds, Noblesville Schools
