Jim Hartzfeld, VP Sustainable Strategy, was recently elected Chairman of the Board of the US Green Building Council (USGBC). The USGBC Board represents a diverse cross section of the industry's most highly respected green building pioneers. By voting for Interface and Jim to lead them through a time of great growth and opportunity, these pioneers confirmed Interface's credibility as one of the leaders in green building.

Jim has been involved with the council since 1995 and has served on its board for the past 2 years. During that time, he has participated in the development of the LEED Green Building Rating System and has worked with its board to manage its recent rapid growth. In his new role, Jim's priorities are to strengthen the USGBC's processes to manage its high growth rate, broaden the adoption of LEED and increase the number of local USGBC chapters with the end result of mainstreaming sustainable design.
