Interface Flooring Systems - USA Has Earned Registration By Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL) To The International Standard For Environmental Management Systems (EMS) - ISO 14001:1996

Registration to ISO 14001:1996 means that Interface Flooring Systems USA's management system for environmental performance has been evaluated in the areas of operations (including system requirements and objectives), in documentation, training, communication, operational control, emergency preparedness, preventive and corrective action, records and internal auditing.

Following recommendation for ISO 14001, Interface Flooring Systems immediately began working toward certification in ISO 9001:2000. After many months of preparation, IFS underwent the auditing process for ISO 9001 certification in March 2002 and was recommended for certification by Underwriter's Laboratories, Inc. ISO 9001 requires the implementation of consistent procedures for every phase of operation, which then reduces costs and improves documentation and quality awareness.

SGS International Certification Services Canada, Inc. registered Interface Flooring Systems - Canada to ISO 14001 in December 1997 and to the Quality Standard ISO 9002 in February 1998.
